How much does an event DJ cost in Toronto?
Use Peter Styla’s published prices to plan your private event, corporate event, wedding or hosted karaoke. This guide covers Peter’s services, rather than a survey of Toronto DJ rates.
All prices are in Canadian dollars, before applicable HST. Your written quote confirms the date, venue, service window and equipment required.
Choose your event package
Choose DJ Performance with all equipment supplied by your appointed AV company, or DJ + Sound & Lighting with the planned equipment configuration. Hosted karaoke offers venue AV and complete sound-and-display options.

DJ Performance includes entertainment, music preparation and planning only; no equipment is supplied by Peter. The customer or venue appoints an AV company to provide the full corresponding setup. DJ + Sound & Lighting includes the specified equipment, setup and teardown.
The extended up-to-nine-hour service covers wedding ceremony, canapés and reception. Its equipment specification adds a battery-powered canapés speaker and an officiant lavalier microphone for the ceremony. Peter supplies these with DJ + Sound & Lighting; for DJ Performance, the customer or venue-appointed AV company supplies them and all other required equipment. Timing and coverage are agreed in writing. Ceremony coverage with four- and six-hour reception packages is quoted separately.
Equipment packages are planned configurations. Availability, venue suitability and the exact supplied equipment are confirmed in writing before your booking is accepted.

DJ Performance
DJ Performance is performance-only: Peter supplies no equipment. The customer or venue must appoint an AV company to supply, install, test and remove the full setup described for the corresponding DJ + Sound & Lighting package, including the DJ controller/playback system, headphones, mixer, microphones, sound, lighting, adapters and cabling.
DJ + Sound & Lighting
Two professional 15-inch powered speakers on stands, a dual wireless microphone system, six LED uplights, dancefloor lighting effects, a haze machine (venue permitting) and required cabling, with setup and teardown. Customer supplies a sturdy table (approximately 2 m × 1 m) and tablecloth; the venue provides suitable power. Larger rooms, extra sound zones and additional AV are quoted for the event.
Hosted karaoke
Both karaoke options include hosted singer rotation, live DJ sets and planning. Karaoke DJ Performance includes no equipment. The customer or venue must appoint an AV company to supply, install, test and remove the full setup specified for the complete karaoke package, including a Yamaha MG12XU mixer or suitable equivalent with sufficient microphone inputs, individual vocal controls and adjustable vocal effects. The complete DJ + Sound & Lighting package includes two professional 15-inch powered speakers on stands, a dual wireless microphone system, six LED uplights, dancefloor lighting effects, a haze machine (venue permitting), one 32-inch singer-facing TV, one 52-inch audience-facing TV, three wired vocal microphones and required cabling, with setup and teardown. Vocal mixing and mirrored lyrics are included.
Two-hour private DJ Performance remains $475; two-hour hosted karaoke using suitable venue AV remains $495, before HST.

Confirm performance hours, venue access and any production extensions in your quote. An early access window does not add performance time to your booking.
Travel, parking and accommodation
Distances are measured one way from Toronto M5R using Google Maps.
- Up to 60 km: travel is included. Venue parking is charged separately where applicable.
- 60–100 km: $250, including parking and tolls. No separate parking charge applies.
- Beyond 100 km: travel is quoted for the event, including parking and tolls.
Accommodation is required only for events beyond 100 km with a scheduled finish after 11 p.m. The client arranges accommodation rated at least four stars. Include the full venue address and scheduled finish in your enquiry.
Booking and payment
- Peter confirms availability and provides a written quote.
- After written approval, a 50% retainer secures the date.
- The balance and agreed add-ons are due 14 days before the event. Bookings made within 14 days require full payment when accepting the written booking.
Overtime approved on the night is invoiced within three business days and is due on receipt. Bookings, quotations, invoices and payments are administered by Styla Entertainment. Read the Booking Terms before confirming.

Common pricing questions
Is HST included?
No. All published prices are in CAD before applicable HST.
Does a four-hour booking include all-day availability?
No. Your quote sets out the performance window and access requirements. Early setup or standby beyond 90 minutes before the start is charged at the published hourly rate.
Which package suits my venue?
Choose DJ Performance when your venue or appointed AV team can meet the technical rider. Choose DJ + Sound & Lighting when you need sound and lighting included. Peter confirms the requirements with you before quoting.
