Equipment packages are planned configurations. Availability, venue suitability and the exact supplied equipment are confirmed in writing before your booking is accepted. Travel & accommodation PDF

This current online rider supersedes earlier walk-in equipment lists for new quotations. Existing accepted booking scopes remain unchanged.

1. Confirm the event scope

Send the venue address, guest count, room dimensions or floor plan, running order, performance window, access times and technical contact. Confirm each sound zone, speech, presentation and any movement between rooms. Equipment suitability depends on the space and programme, not guest count alone.

2. Who supplies what

Peter: every booking

  • Music preparation, planning, performance and venue coordination
  • DJ Performance: no equipment supplied by Peter

Customer and venue: every booking

  • Customer supplies a sturdy table (approximately 2 m × 1 m) and tablecloth; suitable power and a safe working area are required
  • Weather protection, loading access, parking and agreed access schedule
  • Named venue contact, noise limits and safe guest circulation

Venue or professional AV provider: DJ Performance

DJ Performance is performance-only: Peter supplies no equipment. The customer or venue must appoint an AV company to supply, install, test and remove the full setup described for the corresponding DJ + Sound & Lighting package, including the DJ controller/playback system, headphones, mixer, microphones, sound, lighting, adapters and cabling. The equipment lists below also serve as the AV company’s supply requirements for the selected service. No controller, laptop, microphones, speakers, lighting or other equipment is brought by Peter for performance-only bookings.

Peter: equipment-inclusive booking

The planned sound, lighting or karaoke equipment below, with connection cables, protective cases, setup and teardown. Any external supplier, extra staffing or substituted equipment is identified in the written scope before acceptance.

3. Standard DJ + Sound & Lighting

  • 2 × professional 15-inch powered main speakers on suitable speaker stands
  • 6 × LED uplights
  • Dancefloor lighting effects
  • Haze machine (venue permitting; confirm venue approval before setup)
  • Professional audio mixer, balanced speaker connections and required power/audio cabling
  • Dual wireless handheld microphone system
  • Compact DJ controller and laptop on the customer-supplied table
  • Protective transport cases and safe cable management

Karaoke-specific equipment is required only for karaoke bookings. Extra sound zones, additional speakers, presentation systems and larger production require a separate agreed quote.

Technical model status

Peter supplies his existing compact DJ controller and laptop with equipment-inclusive bookings only. For DJ Performance, the appointed AV company supplies the compatible controller and playback system. Final loudspeaker, mixer, uplight, dancefloor-lighting, haze-machine, dual-wireless, display, battery-speaker and lavalier makes/models are not yet confirmed for supply. The booking-specific rider will list the selected models, connection requirements, electrical loads and wireless coordination once procurement or supplier arrangements are confirmed. Do not order or substitute equipment from earlier draft model lists without agreement.

For venue sound, equivalent professional equipment is acceptable where it meets the agreed coverage, connections, vocal mixing and safe operating requirements; matching brands are not required.

4. Audio connections and placement

Confirm the supplied DJ controller/playback system’s stereo output, the mixer’s compatible input, any required professional interface or DI arrangement and the full cable run before booking. Confirm microphone receiver outputs and enough mixer channels before the event.

The PA must provide clear, balanced speech and music at the agreed volume throughout the event area. Background-only ceiling systems require assessment before use for dancing. Position speaker stands on stable level ground, outside guest routes, with speakers in front of the microphone line and directed away from performers and nearby seated guests. Check feedback, wireless range and frequency compatibility during soundcheck. Agree monitoring when the room layout requires it.

5. Wedding reception and ceremony coverage

The extended up-to-nine-hour service covers wedding ceremony, canapés and reception. Its equipment specification adds a battery-powered canapés speaker and an officiant lavalier microphone for the ceremony. Peter supplies these with DJ + Sound & Lighting; for DJ Performance, the customer or venue-appointed AV company supplies them and all other required equipment. Timing and coverage are agreed in writing. Ceremony coverage with four- and six-hour reception packages is quoted separately.

The battery speaker and lavalier are planned equipment; final models, microphone compatibility, operating time and availability must be confirmed for the booking. Extra audio zones beyond the included canapés speaker, additional ceremony microphones, simultaneous coverage or moving equipment between locations require an agreed operating plan and may require a separate quote. Confirm cues, microphone handovers, any agreed MC duties and who operates independent playback.

6. Karaoke addition

  • Dual wireless handheld microphone system plus 3 additional wired professional vocal microphones; exact wired model confirmed before supply
  • 3 suitable XLR microphone cables
  • For karaoke DJ Performance, the AV company must supply a Yamaha MG12XU mixer or suitable equivalent, with sufficient microphone inputs, individual vocal controls and adjustable vocal effects
  • 32-inch singer-facing lyric display on a low-profile screen stand
  • 52-inch audience-facing lyric display on a taller screen stand
  • Powered HDMI distribution and suitable signal cables for the same mirrored lyric feed
  • Karaoke playback, required connections and protective transport cases

The complete karaoke DJ + Sound & Lighting package includes two professional 15-inch powered speakers on stands, a dual wireless microphone system, six LED uplights, dancefloor lighting effects, a haze machine (venue permitting), one 32-inch singer-facing TV, one 52-inch audience-facing TV, three wired vocal microphones and required cabling, with setup and teardown. Dedicated vocal mixing and mirrored lyrics are included. Karaoke DJ Performance includes no equipment. The customer or venue must appoint an AV company to supply, install, test and remove the full setup specified for the complete karaoke package, including a Yamaha MG12XU mixer or suitable equivalent with sufficient microphone inputs, individual vocal controls and adjustable vocal effects. Agree singer monitoring as needed. Keep singers behind the main speaker line, screens readable and cable routes protected; test playback, microphone levels and both displays before guest arrival.

7. Venue access, power and safety

  • Table: the customer supplies a tablecloth and a stable, level table approximately 2 m wide × 1 m deep, at a comfortable working height, with no wobble. Confirm its usable dimensions against the final equipment layout before booking.
  • Working space: allow a clear DJ area of approximately 3 m × 2 m, plus safe speaker footprints, screen/singer space where relevant, and unobstructed access. The final room plan must provide safe clearances; this is a planning allowance, not a guarantee for every venue.
  • Power: confirm accessible grounded 120 V outlets and circuit capacity with the venue against the final equipment load. Use approved, appropriately rated cables and venue-required electrical protection. Keep connections dry; do not share an unknown circuit with catering or other heavy loads.
  • Cabling: route away from exits and guest paths; use suitable cable covers where a crossing cannot be avoided. Secure equipment against tipping without blocking circulation.
  • Access: confirm loading/unloading location, parking, door widths, elevator size and availability, stairs, long carrying distances and venue restrictions in advance. Extra handling needs must be included in the quote.
  • Setup: agree an access window long enough for delivery and safe setup, followed by a practical 30-minute connection and soundcheck before guests arrive. Performance hours and access hours are distinct.
  • Teardown: agree the finish, safe guest separation, packing, collection time and loading access with the venue. Do not assume overnight storage or immediate removal through an occupied dancefloor.
  • Noise: confirm venue limits, any sound limiter, curfew and the contact authorised to approve programme changes.

Outdoor work

The planned IP65 specification applies only to the selected lighting fixtures once their rating is verified. It does not make the entire system weatherproof. The DJ workstation, powered speakers, mixer, microphones, displays, cabling connections and electrical equipment need suitable shelter from rain and moisture. Provide a stable, dry, safely covered area and an agreed weather contingency; manufacturer limits and venue safety requirements apply.

8. Written confirmation before acceptance

Confirm the supplied models, supplier responsibilities, venue facilities, sound zones, timings and any separately approved additions in the written booking scope. Additional requirements are not included merely because they appear in an event running order.

Travel beyond 100 km from Toronto requires accommodation when the scheduled finish is after 11 p.m.; see the travel rider. Published early setup and standby charges remain subject to the agreed quote.
